10/09/11 - Following our general members meeting on Friday 9th September we are now in a position to confirm that the 50th anniversary of the closure of the Glasgow Tramways will be commemorated at the National Tramway Museum in Crich with -

• The recreation of Glasgow 1068 as a blue open-top Glasgow Corporation tram as running on the Renfrew – Paisley services (1923-26) and
• Restoration of 1282 to running order (no passengers).   

Other events are being planned and further details will be announced.

10/12/10 - Murdoch Currie (our immediate past Chairman) returns to provide another talk in his series "Further transport reminisceneces from the late 1990's."

12/11/10 - Martin Jenkins  (from on-line videos) returns to provide an other talk, this time "Sheffield Trams in colour 1951-1960."

25/10/10 - A facility to subscribe for our annual publication (Scottish Transport) only has been added in our Join the STTS page. 

08/10/10 - George Fairley will attend our monthly meeting with an illustrated evenings entertainment - "Should auld acquaintance be forgot". 

10/09/10 - Ron Stevenson will provide an illiustrated talk, with colour slides, on Glasgow Trams from roughly 1958 through to closure in 1962. 

09/09/10 - Scottish Transport (Number 62), our annual magazine, is available now. Sent free to members, and available through our E-Shop for purchase.

15/05/10 - We here at the website will have a short break this year to catch up on our personal lives and will return by the middle of August with some more updates for you.  

14/05/10 - AGM for members only at Renfield St Stephens Church Centre, Bath Street, Glasgow, commencing at 19.30. 

28/04/10 - The first of the New Edinburgh Trams to arrive in Edinburgh, number 252, goes on public display today in Princes Street having arrived on 25th April. Photos will be added soon.

22/04/10 - The Members AGM will be held on Friday 14th May at the Renfield St Stephen Church Centre Glasgow at 19.30.  

22/04/10 - We have sold out of our Ker Prints which have now been deleted from our sales pages. 

21/04/10 - The discussion forum has been deleted due to lack of demand. If we have sufficent future demand this will be reinstated.

09/04/10 - Mike Jackson returns to provide another talk on railways he has visited during his working life at sea. The talk is "Perks of the Job Part II".  

30/03/10 - The Glasgow Museum of Transport is to close on 18th April pending relocation to the new clyde side premises.

18/03/10 - The Glasgow Tram Services publication has sold out. We have no current plans to republish this informative works.  

12/03/10 - Mike Russell provides an illustrated talk on "Polish Tram Scene Today".

12/02/10 - Brian Hardy returns to talk to us with illustrated slides on the subject of Deutcher U-Bahnen. "A Visit to U-Bahns in Germany" To include - Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, and Nuremburg.

Articles regarding the last running of the stepped buses, and the madder and white liverly scheme in Edinburgh; the discovery and ongoing restoration of the recently discovered Edinburgh Horse Tram; and welcome to our new members including member number 800; and other topics...

28/10/09 - Additional photographs added to Edinburgh Trams iv page showing the on-going works in Princes Street and the Mock Up Tram in situ at the West End. The Mock Up has now had more than 130,000 visits. Page ii has updates of the current progress.

12/10/09 - For this first time in one month we have exceeded the number of views of our pages to above 1500. As a voluntary organisation with voluntary contributors and office bearers we try our best to bring historical and topical subjects to the Society's webpages and we hope you continue to enjoy them. Your webmaster is currently project managing a major refurbishment of a 1930's building which is taking up most of any leisure time. This is nearing completion and I would ask you keep visiting the site for our future additions and updates. If you have any information that could form part of our pages pleasecontact us and I will return to you, although this might not be straight away!.

27/02/09 - LRTA announcement. TIE - the promoters of the Edinburgh Tram will provide an update of progress to the LRTA Edinburgh Area. The talk will commence at 19.30 in the Quaker Meeting House (off the High Street) to which all guests are welcome. More details available from LRTA. 

23-24/02/09 - photographs added (see Edinburgh Tram New iii) of the mock up display of the new Edinburgh Tram vehicle. This exhibit is on public display for 3 weeks in Princes Street Edinburgh. Over 4000 visitors were recorded on the first day 22nd February 2009. The photographs were taken on 22nd & 23rd February.

25/09/08 - We have received on loan from the JIM MURRAY collection a large number of photographs (150+) of passenger carrying vessels that were in operation on the Clyde in the early 1900's. These can be seen in our pages Clyde Shipping i , ii, & iii. Descriptions have been added and any assistance is welcome.  We hope you enjoy viewing these.

24/09/08 - Some photographs added showing the first public display of the road changes to allow the Tram Line to run through the "West End" of Edinburgh. This is a public consultation exercise prior to the plans going for official approval in January 2009.
