Edinburgh Trams Past & Present.
The photographs, from the STTS collection, on this page show the original Edinburgh Trams running in parts of what will be part of the new route. Some photographs show all over advertising livery. Plans have been suggested to have some of the new trams in all over advertising.
Some of the other photographs have pitures of items from the old tram system.
More information on the pre-1956 trams is provided on our Edinburgh Tram page.
Also included in the pages detailing Edinburgh's new tram are photographs of the mock-up of the tram vehicle. It was was on public display between February & April 2009 in Princes Street outside Jenners Department Store where it received 74,000 visitors. It was later placed in Constitution Street (Leith) where it received over 6,000 visitors, before moving in June 2009 to the Ocean Terminal shopping centre in Leith.
Page i has a history of the commencement of the works while Page ii has some information of current progress.
